Using a high number of keywords and significantly boosting your keyword density is referred to as keyword stuffing, and can actually penalize you in terms of SEO-so don't so it. Duplicate Content: Any content that is used on multiple websites or web ... SEO for Realtors at a Glance
If the professionals at AuroIN are currently working on your SEO campaign you will have noticed that we are very detail oriented. We are very thorough in our approach. An example of this is the way we deal with the keyword density issue. In the final analysis this will not be seen as a very important metric, but we feel that this is an important topic, and one should be well-informed about it. We still hear the view expressed that "The more times a tem appears in a document, then the higher will be the keyword density for that term. The higher the keyword density, the more relevant a document becomes for that term."
Keyword density is a simplistic on-page measure that expresses a term/document ratio. This ratio doesn't consider the keyword density of any other document that may be competing in the same search. To overcome this, it is then suggested that you should compare your document to the top ranking documents for the target term and adapt your page to match the keyword density of those documents.
This will not be effective, and furthermore it won't be in correct English.Documents that have undergone this process are quite familiar. In an attempt to achieve a specific keyword density, the quality of the English has degraded and the document looks like what it is รข" an attempt to deceive the search engines. Ultimately, legibility and usability have suffered along with credibility and conversions.
If this simplistic view of the metric were valid, all you would have to do is repeat your target term over and over to get pages to rank. Search engines will not be deceived by this, nor will the actual reader of the text.
Keyword density ratios fail to take into account the context of the term and how it's distributed throughout the document or how many documents are relevant for the term.It is our view that keyword density is not a useful metric and seeking a specific keyword density target is not worthwhile.
When writing content, a natural pattern of keywords, verbs, nouns, and synonyms will naturally evolve. The true meaning of the text on a page will follow from this. Many terms have multiple meanings, and it is the context of the term on a page that will help define the true meaning. Simply counting the number of times the term appears on a page will never reveal this.
